WELCOME PACKERS ROOKIES!

Image
Welcome Green Bay Packers rookies to Green Bay, Wisconsin You will be officially orientated and inundated with vasts amount of information and abundant work as you begin the path to your professional football career through your new employer.  I don't want to complicate that, I do want to give you these few tips. Several of these tips are targeted for the time not that far away when you officially begin to settle, get your own place and live in Green Bay. FEELING AT HOME ~  I understand that you are now fully grown men who first left home to go to college. There still might be a few times you miss family members, loved ones, significant others. There may be times when your new place simply doesn't feel 'at home'. BUY A BAKING SHEET or COOKIE SHEET  and a spatula  ~ You don't have to make a mess trying to mix from scratch cookies or invest in all the ingredients and supplies to do so. You can buy cookie dough from the grocery store, fol...

Twitter Says Suspended, You Tweet Too Much

Image
Photo credit:   Big Big Forums arts crafts knit-spring-crochet-animals It's the end of one type of twitter era for me after two years, three weeks and three+ days.  Gone are the multiple listed people tweets for my primary interests   #GoPackGo Packers fans and   #WritersWednesday (authors and writers) and the first basic twitter tradition I ever learned #FF for #FollowFriday which now includes #FollowSaturday through #FollowThursday . (I was using -->  Follow Friday Helper  ~ I will continue to use it as a resource to see who shows up there for however long it may or may not last.) <---- December 9, 2012 UPDATE ~ I'm sad to report that Follow Friday Helper has now closed for good.  I want to thank their developers for always being a trustworthy application for me to have used. I can be suspended and permanently revoked by Twitter, THEY told me so on Thursday, November 1st, 2012. Twitter briefly s...

Trip to Lambeau Part III

Trip to Lambeau, October 16, 2011  Part III  ~ originally written for Packer HQ October 20, 2011 by me. * * * It's Thursday & time to wrap this one up! I see  @SenorMalcolm  on twitter has asked if my seats were good seats (50 yd line) ~ it's far easier to answer here than there. Yes, Malcolm center of the field 50 yd line tickets give you a perfect straight on view of the entire field (left to right or in Lambeau, North to South) including both end zones. Section 120 is the Packers home sideline, so in addition to the field, you get to see your players, identify the backside of Coach MM by the red flag hanging out his right rear pocket & where he is at on the field on any given play if you so desire. Have the opportunity to see others in the Packers organization, the doctors, the position coaches, the trainers & I got to even see Mark Murphy. Directly across the field at the opponents sideline at the 50 yd line is Section 119 ~ using my binocular...

Trip to Lambeau Part II

Trip to Lambeau October 16, 2011 Part II  ~ originally written by me on October 19, 2011 for Packer HQ * * * I'm inside Lambeau! The lady electronically validates my ticket, I stop at a rail to re-adjust myself & get my eyes used to the darkness. I see a stack of this little seats with the backs that can be rented for $7. I've brought my own cushion. I have to remember to tell Sandra Pekez who is flying in from Australia these are available, because depending on temperature, frost or snow the stadium metal seating benches without a seat like this are gonna be even colder. She's coming in November & I'm so ashamed, I forgotten to ask her if she is going to the Monday Night Vikings game or the Sunday noon Bucs game or if she is blessed to go to both games. I move farther in & start circling around reading signs to decide which route I shall take. I decide to walk up the ramps to level 3 & enter the bowl of Lambeau & take in the view from the ...

Trip to Lambeau Part I

Trip to Lambeau October 16th, 2011 Part I ~ originally written by me on October 18, 2011 for Packer HQ "I can't believe this is happening to me, I'm going to Lambeau for a noon Sunday game". Only 4 days away from 9 years since my last Lambeau home game.  While I can't hardly believe it, the first thing is prepare to go, make a plan. My daughter helps me search the Packers.com website for those things that are prohibited to bring. I decide our camera needs to stay home because it makes videos (things that make videos are prohibited). I realized how foolish this was after I got settled in the stadium & saw so many folks with cameras & phones that both take pictures & videos, and in fact pitching in to take family pictures for some of them. My daughter teases me that I can only buy two beers at a time & all beer sales stop at the beginning of the 4th quarter. She's got that 'way wicked' grin on her face because she knows I don't...

Donald Driver Dream and A Whole Lotta Other Things This Week

THE DREAM  ~ I am in a lovely church. I can see I am standing right behind the pulpit in the main sanctuary. There is two tall  medium skinny windows with  oval  (rounded tops) behind me in the back of the church ~ one on each side of the pulpit and they are streaming a beautiful filtered sunlight through them. I don't recall either of them being 'stained glass' , but one of them particularly I notice  has some art within it.  I think I remember seeing a blue bird, and then realize, it's a robin, the wings are blue color, but the orange breast is true to color.  It is sitting beak open on a tree branch. The wooden walls and features in the sanctuary are polished, clean & there is no dust in the rays of streaming sunlight. I am wearing a pink blush almost white blouse with short sleeves that are a little bit puffed.  Further on to my left side beyond the...

Introducing 3DogsWhite @3DogsWhite on twitter https://twitter.com/#!/3DogsWhite  "and the plan is there is no real plan..."  Daisy, Buddy, Taz Taz, Daisy, Buddy ~ from bottom to top their twitter profile picture Giving credit where credit is due: The first pet on twitter I can remember seeing was Tucker James @pugbeaglemix whom  Dustin (@siouxhockeyfan1 on twitter) belongs to. Dustin is a Packers fan. I follow Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Lisa Vanderpump (@LisaVanderpump on twitter), so following her Sir Giggy (@giggythepom) was a natural progression for me. Here, there and everywhere on twitter I'm seeing a veritable upward trend of pets on twitter. Well, me and my doggies wanted 'in on the trend'. We know the legion of Green Bay Packers fans have pets they adore and share pictures with us. We know the Green Bay Packers players themselves have pets they adore and share pictures with u...

The Magic of Eilif ~ Part Two

Image
Image Credit: Blogs Nosey Parker Toronto Sun Subtitled: Eilif, I Have Great Ambitions for You This story is dedicated to Eilif Skodvin  and   Eilif Kiland . Please remember to read The Magic of Eilif ~ Part One  so you may catch up to this point in the story. Some few days passed. I can't remember exactly how many. I am fairly accurate on keeping track of what day it currently is. One morning I have awakened myself, talking (babbling?) in my sleep.  I lift up, swing out of the bed, put my feet on the carpet and have that very rare moment of being able to capture what it was I was talking to myself about before I woke myself up doing it. The magic of Eilif has once again come into play. "Eilif ~ I live because I matter. Eilif ~ I matter because I live."  ~ these are exact words ~ I kept repeating them out loud on the way to the bathroom.  After that necessary relief, I went to my computer desk and I scrawled them in a spiral notebook I kee...
